Adetokunbo Opaleye is the founder of ÌtànModels, a platform created to celebrate women over 50 who are still vibrant, confident and very much present in the world.
The name Ìtàn comes from the Yoruba word for story. And that meaning sits at the heart of what she is building. Because as far as she is concerned, beauty is not something that disappears with age. If anything, it becomes richer shaped by the stories women carry through life.
For years she noticed something quietly happening around her. Women would reach a certain age and suddenly feel they needed to step back, tone themselves down, or become less visible. She never agreed with that. Through ÌtànModels, she hopes to open the door wider for women who still want to be seen, express themselves and take up space whether in fashion, media, or simply in the way they show up in the world.
